A break from the rain

As you may know California has been getting a lot of rain lately. In fact, we've been getting so much rain that earlier this week the highway next to our complex was closed due to flooding and the building where I work was actively becoming its own little island. Luckily there was no major damage and our building never actually flooded. It did rain less as the week went by but we have now had 8 days straight of rain. With 4 more days in the forecast. However, today we had a break from the rain and it was long enough for the streets to dry out. Now that the playground in our complex is open we took the opportunity to check it out. Jacob had a blast and discovered a new favorite game:




Note the complete lack of hesitation at the top of the slide. I'm not sure how many times he made the loop, but he became quite the pro at getting up the stairs on the side. We also met another Jacob having just as much fun at the park as we were. The other Jacob is almost two and both Jacobs were running around and having lots of fun.

Other adventures lately include going on a mushroom walk with the EV and bowling. Jacob was not that interested in the bowling but loved the video games that were at the bowling alley. To be fair, he would have been more interested in the bowling if we had actually allowed him to bowl or better yet if we would have let him run down the lane and play with the pins.
