The past few weeks have been pretty exciting. After finishing the medicine for his ear infection, Jacob developed a rash. For awhile we thought he might have had a reaction to the medicine, but after much consultation and research it turns out it was completely unrelated. I am quite relieved that Jacob doesn't seem to have any food or drug allergies! Unfortunately this also meant another sick day. For the past month someone in our house has taken a sick day every week. Everyone seems to be doing well now (knock on wood) so hopefully this week will break that streak.
One day Jacob and I got creative. We made cookies using some of the baby cereal we had left over (when Jacob decided he wanted to be able to feed himself) and Jacob colored with dry erase markers. In case you are ever curious, dry erase markers work well because they wash off of skin and wipe up easily off of tables.
With the beginning of spring, we have decided to try growing some things on our patio. We have grand plans for container gardens but we started with a couple little strawberry pots. One has actual strawberries and one has 5 different kinds of herbs. Jacob was a bit perplexed by the whole idea and isn't entirely sure how he feels about the plan. He did have fun with the dirt though.
He also got to go for his first bike ride. Although he really doesn't like wearing a helmet, he was curious enough about sitting in the bike trailer that he forgot about it for awhile. Chris took a couple laps around the block and reported that Jacob was completely silent the whole time. That either means that he was very interested in what was going on or completely terrified. We will be doing more experiments with the bike trailer in the coming weeks to determine which it is!
