There is no doubt

Jacob is definitely a Donovan.

Chris's family is in town for Christmas so things are a little more hectic than usual. It also means that there are different kinds of food around than we usually have, as well as coffee and wine. There has never been a question about Jacob's love of food and he has recently discovered chocolate. However, the other night at dinner Jacob was insisting that he needed another cup. He already had a cup of milk but that obviously wasn't enough. We couldn't figure out what he wanted in the cup so I finally just gave him a cup to see what he would do. As soon as he had the cup he was very clear about what he wanted - the wine. Add this to salsa and ketchup and the evidence is clear: Jacob is definitely a Donovan.

A lot has happened since I last posted. On December 2nd, Jacob turned two. We kept it pretty low key since there has been so much going on. Jacob had banana muffin with frosting on it and two candles. He wasn't thrilled about the candles because they were hot - one of his biggest concerns lately - but enjoyed the muffin and the frosting thoroughly. He also figured out the concept of "presents" which should make Christmas more interesting.

Alex had an ultrasound of his hips to make sure the joints formed properly. Apparently this is now standard practice for breech babies. In true Alex form, he mostly tried to sleep and the test went very smoothly and everything looks perfect. His next appointment is the first week of January and we will find out then how much he weighs now.

Alex and Jacob and I had breakfast with the staff at the EV to celebrate my coworkers birthday and Alex and I went to the Holiday Party the next day. Alex enjoyed meeting many of the volunteers, but wished Jacob could have been there too. Jacob was at daycare, where he has now transitioned to the two year old class. In the two year old class they have a container garden and they like to cook, so Jacob should have a great time.

Both Jacob and Chris are now home until 2011 and for most of that time we will have family in town. Merry Christmas to everyone!
