Happy Easter!

Yesterday was Jacob's first Easter and, of course, first egg rolling. For those of you who did not grow up with my family, egg rolling is a game where you roll Easter eggs down a board and try to hit other people's eggs. No one is entirely sure how it got started but we have introduced it to countless friends (and kindergartners - thanks mom!) over the years. We don't have an official egg rolling board - yes there is such a thing, my mom has one - so we take a shelf off of our bookshelves. Jacob slept through the decorating of eggs (though realistically that is probably for the best) and was not all that impressed with the egg rolling though he did win a couple of eggs. He also had a good time visiting with all of our friends who came over. However his biggest concern at the moment is the fact that he is getting a couple of teeth. He's pretty unhappy about the whole thing. He's willing to admit he might actually like HAVING teeth but the process of getting them is not his favorite thing. I don't have the heart to tell him that the two front ones coming in are only the beginning. Despite his grumpiness over the teeth he did very well at Easter Vigil mass. And although he did not get any candy in his Easter basket he did get hats, sunglasses, books, and teething keys so he's pretty excited.
