St. Simons

We are having a great time at St. Simons - the first of our two beach stops. For the unfamiliar, St. Simons is in south Georgia and we are basically on the other side of the dunes from the beach. Jacob is loving the beach and the ocean. Yesterday he went in the water for awhile. He was super excited about the waves - until he took one in the face. They are just really little waves, but he’s a pretty little boy. It actually only dampened his enthusiasm briefly. He also did a LOT of running in the sand. He is sleeping well!

Alex still hasn’t been in the water and is not that interested in the beach so far. He seems to be feeling better and the cold he seemed to be getting hasn’t materialized. But he is randomly crying out and seems to be in pain from time to time. I was sure he would have teeth by now with the amount of drool and gnawing that has been happening for months now but I think this may be it. I can feel all of his other teeth under the gums but not the front ones. I swear he’s starting with the molars. But the gnawing has reached a level of frantic that makes me think - along with the crying out - that whatever teeth are first will make their appearance soon. He has certainly been through a lot between the flight and the time change and just the fact that we are in a different place now, but he’s generally his normal happy self - just with intermittent cries and frantic gnawing on anything that can go in his mouth.
